Australia’s Brumbies are more than just horses, they are a vital part of our heritage, representing strength, resilience, and the wild spirit of the land. These remarkable horses have roamed free for generations, embodying the untamed beauty of our country's vast wilderness. However, as the landscape and circumstances change, many Brumbies face uncertain futures, with some removed from National Parks, rescued, or re-homed by caring families.

At Silver Springs Equine, we are passionate about protecting the legacy of Australia’s wild horses. To support these efforts, we are excited to introduce the Brumby Tracker, a comprehensive database that records the journeys of Brumbies who have been rescued, re-homed, or adopted. This initiative is a crucial step in understanding the stories behind each Brumby, where they came from, their approximate age, what they are now used for, their unique colors, and their registration details if they are registered with any of the three Brumby registries. We also record whether a Brumby has been DNA tested.

Why is this information important? The more we know about these horses, the better we can advocate for their welfare and future. By compiling and sharing this information, we aim to shed light on the real impact of current practices, dispel misconceptions, and bring about meaningful change in how Australia’s wild horses are treated and protected.

How You Can Help:

If you are a proud owner of a Brumby, whether rescued, re-homed, or adopted, your participation is invaluable. By contributing to the Brumby Tracker, you help us build a stronger case for the preservation and protection of these incredible horses. Every detail adds to the bigger picture, helping us understand the scale of the Brumby movement across Australia, as well as the role they play in our culture and heritage.

This survey is completely anonymous, and the information provided will be used solely for the purpose of creating an accurate and comprehensive record. Your contribution is not just data, it’s a step toward securing a brighter future for Brumbies everywhere.

Call to Action:

If you have a Brumby, we invite you to complete our survey and share your Brumby’s life journey with us. Every piece of information helps in the ongoing fight for the freedom and dignity of Australia’s wild horses.
