Through the Lens
Immerse Yourself in Our Gallery
For over a decade, Ian Brown has dedicated himself to capturing the spirit of the Brumbies in their natural habitat in Kosciuszko. Week after week, he treks through rugged terrain, his camera lens revealing the breathtaking beauty of Australia's wild horses. Yet, Ian's work transcends traditional photography; it is a heartfelt tribute to the untamed majesty of nature.
Through his lens, Ian tells a vivid story of the ecosystem. Pristine waterways glisten in the sunlight, wildflowers splash vibrant colors across the landscape, and elegant snow gums stand tall against the sky. He captures the intricate details of natureβthe delicate webs of spiders, the stealthy presence of snakes and lizards, the haunting calls of dingoes, the playful hops of kangaroos, the graceful strut of emus, and the diverse symphony of birdlife.
Every creature he encounters is immortalised in his poignant narrative. Yet, alongside these wonders, Ian's images also confront the harsh realitiesβ the devastation caused by government policies, the scars from excavations, and the ravages of wildfires.
Michelle, an integral partner in these adventures, has shared many of these journeys, helping to unveil both the hidden wonders and deep sorrows of the mountains. Together, they provide us a window into their world, inviting viewers to explore and connect with the landscape and its inhabitants.
