The Arrival of Our Official Freeze Branding Iron – A Sigil with Deep Meaning

That’s why we’re so proud to officially announce the arrival of our Freeze Branding Iron, which carries with it our unique Sigil, a symbol we’ve carefully developed to honour the horses that become part of the Silver Springs story.
The Journey to Creating the Sigil
Back in September 2023, we began the process of bringing one of our goals to life. We reached out to a trusted Australian freeze branding iron company with our custom design, a concept that had been waiting patiently for the right time.
This design wasn’t just something that was quickly whipped up, it was born from meaning, shaped with purpose, and intended to become a part of our ongoing legacy.
By October, the branding iron was completed and delivered, taking approximately five weeks from concept to creation. The result? An absolutely stunning freeze branding iron that captured everything we wanted it to represent.
What the SSE Sigil Represents
This isn’t just a brand.
It’s a Sigil, a sacred mark, full of heart and symbolism.
It reflects a powerful truth:
Just as no two snowflakes are alike, each Brumby is unique.
These horses, born of the wild, each carry their own story, spirit, and soul. Our Sigil is a reminder that they deserve protection, recognition, and deep respect, not persecution or erasure.
When a Brumby carries this mark, it signifies that they have been brought into care, supported through their journey, and are now part of a wider mission to honour their story.

Designed with Purpose — Crafted with Love
The heart behind the design came from someone very special to us, Ellie from BEINC. Ellie is the brilliant mind and creative force who expertly crafted and brought our Sigil to life. Her care, attention to detail, and understanding of our mission turned our concept into something powerful and lasting.
We were so moved by her work and her spirit, we chose to name one of our foals after her, a living tribute to a woman whose contribution helped shape a meaningful piece of SSE history. That foal, like the Sigil, will carry her name forward in honour.

Having this freeze branding iron in our hands marks a significant milestone for SSE2024 Inc. It’s a new chapter, one where we can physically and symbolically mark the lives that come to us and ensure each life is supported, and honoured.
While we will always ensure that branding is done thoughtfully, ethically. The presence of this Sigil allows us to create a visible, lasting sign of care, connection, and commitment. For now, we simply wanted to mark this beautiful moment in our journey.
