Sultan
Sultan the Black, a powerful, gleaming stallion with a mane that drapes nearly to the ground, commands the wild, mountainous terrain of Kosciuszko National Park. Known for his elusive nature and cautious spirit, he leads a small, close-knit mob thriving under his watchful gaze in the heart of the mountains.
Pink Snip
Pink Snip, the stunning grey stallion with dapples like mountain mist and a distinctive pink snip on his nose, is a true legend of Kosciuszko. From his daring mare thefts to his rise as a leader of a thriving mob, Pink Snipβs story is one of resilience, power, and untamed beauty.
White Sox
White Soxβs journey in Kosciuszko National Park is one of resilience and transformation. Once part of a mischievous duo with Reggie, flanking mobs and stirring trouble, heβs now a devoted leader of his own small mob.
After tragedy struck, White Sox found a lone mare and her foal, forming a new family and proving his strength as a protector and survivor in the wild.
Paleface
In the wilds of Kosciuszko, Paleface, the King of the Mountain, roamed with strength and grace. Known for his pale face and commanding presence, he was a legend among Brumbies. But in January 2020, as fires ravaged the land, Paleface and his mob disappeared, leaving behind a legacy of resilience and the untamed spirit of the mountains.
Lira
Once known simply as Pink Snips Mare, Lira's journey through the rugged wilderness of Kosciuszko has been one of survival, strength, and resilience.
Born into Dap's mob, she faced tragedy early on when her entire family was lost to shooters. But Lira's spirit endured, and her life took a new path when she was claimed by two powerful stallions, first Zuess, with whom she bore her first foal, and later Pink Snip, a fellow survivor.
Rune
In the rugged expanse of Kosciuszko National Park, Rune is an enigma. For over four years, heβs been a lone bachelor, leading other stallions without ever chasing after a mob or trying to steal a mare.
While many stallions fight for dominance, Rune moves through the wilderness with quiet confidence, avoiding confrontation and choosing a path of patience. As the lead bachelor, he commands respect without needing to prove his strength.
Matagi
Meet Matagi, the Spirit of the Mountain Winds. Once known as "Goldy," this magnificent stallion's golden coat shone like the sun, but his untamed spirit called for a name that captured his essence. Now known as Matagi, a name rooted in both Japanese and Fijian cultures, he reflects the "Spiritual Hunters of Japanβs Snowy Mountains" and the "strong wind" that blows through the valleys. Elusive, powerful, and free, Matagi moves with the rhythm of nature, embodying the wild spirit of the mountains. Ian Brown's pursuit to capture him in photographs was like chasing the wind itselfβa fitting tribute to this remarkable stallion.
